RSD RESET - reclaiming your worth

REJECTION SENSITIVITY DYSphoRIA

Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) refers to an extreme emotional sensitivity to criticism or rejection. It is often experienced by people with ADHD and autism but not a formal diagnosis.

For those who experience this, it can involve intense and emotional and sometimes physical pain and can be triggered by even mild criticism or perceived disapproval. It can significantly impact a person’s life and relationships.

WHY you may seek rsd support

You might find yourself feeling hurt or rejected far more often than those around you seem to. Sometimes it is obvious. A comment that hits too hard, a sudden change in someone’s tone, a delayed reply that makes you feel you have done something wrong. Other times it is subtle. A look, a pause, an unanswered message. Your mind starts building a whole story before you even realise it.

When rejection sensitivity strikes it is rarely just a passing discomfort. It can feel like a full-body emotional hijack. One moment you are fine. The next you are spiralling, replaying the interaction, analysing every word, and wondering what you could have done differently. It might leave you withdrawing to protect yourself, overcompensating to win back approval, or lashing out from the pain of feeling pushed away.

If you live with ADHD these intense emotional reactions are not character flaws. They are part of how your nervous system responds to perceived rejection or criticism. Over time this can take a toll on relationships, on work, and on your own sense of self-worth. You might start avoiding opportunities because you fear the possibility of being dismissed or excluded. You might stay silent when you want to speak up, or walk away from people before they have the chance to walk away from you.

How the rsd reset package helps

RSD Reset is not about suppressing your feelings or teaching you to toughen up. It is about understanding why these reactions happen and learning how to meet them differently. We look at how your brain and body process emotional pain and how past experiences have wired you to expect rejection, sometimes even when it is not there.

In our sessions we work together to spot your personal triggers before they pull you into a spiral. We build strategies you can use in the moment to steady yourself, and we explore how to communicate with more confidence even when you feel vulnerable. The aim is not to remove your sensitivity, which is part of what makes you compassionate and intuitive, but to give you the tools to navigate life without being ruled by it.

Alongside the emotional work you will learn ways to regulate your nervous system so that small events no longer feel like a deep wound. We work on reframing unhelpful stories your mind tells you and strengthening the parts of you that can hold steady even when your emotions run high.

what to expect

RSD Reset is a focused programme that blends counselling, psychoeducation, and practical tools drawn from NLP and hypnotherapy where appropriate. Each session builds on the last, helping you move from reactive patterns into a more grounded and self-assured way of responding.

This is not a one-size-fits-all process. You set the pace, and we tailor the approach to your life, your history, and your goals. You will have space to talk through real situations from your week, explore what was triggered, and leave with strategies you can start using straight away. Between sessions you can choose to receive reflection prompts and optional email check-ins to help keep you on track.

Over time you will notice the shift. Moments that once left you spiralling will feel more manageable. The fear of disconnection will no longer control your choices. You will start trusting your own worth even when someone else’s behaviour is uncertain.

RSD Reset is available as a four to six session package, online across the UK or in person in Norwich and surrounding areas.
