burnout recovery

when even rest doesn't restore you

Burnout can creep in slowly or hit all at once. At first, it might just feel like you are more tired than usual. Then the tiredness becomes constant. The motivation you once had is harder to find. You start going through the motions at work or at home, but nothing feels rewarding. Even rest does not seem to restore you.

WHY choose a burnout recovery programme?

You might notice you are more irritable, more withdrawn, or more easily overwhelmed. Simple tasks can feel like climbing a mountain. The things you used to enjoy feel like chores. If you are neurodivergent, especially with ADHD, burnout can be even more intense. Constant masking, overcompensating for executive dysfunction, and managing emotional highs and lows can drain your reserves far faster than most people realise.

Burnout is not just about being tired. It can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and from others. You might struggle to concentrate, find it hard to make decisions, or feel like you have lost your spark completely. You may even start to wonder if you will ever get back to the way you used to be.

How the burnout recovery package helps

Burnout recovery is not about pushing yourself harder or trying to force motivation to return. It is about giving your nervous system space to recover and helping you rebuild your energy and focus in a way that actually works for you. We start by looking at what has brought you to this point — the demands, pressures, and patterns that have been wearing you down. We then work on identifying what you genuinely need in order to heal, rather than what you feel you should be doing.

If you are ADHD or otherwise neurodivergent, we will also look at the role your wiring plays in the burnout cycle. Together we will find ways to reduce masking, manage emotional overload, and set boundaries that protect your time and energy. For neurotypical clients, the process is just as personalised. We will explore how to break the habits of overperformance, people-pleasing, and constant availability that often drive burnout.

You will learn practical strategies to pace yourself, recover energy without guilt, and spot the early warning signs so you can act before you hit the wall again.

what to expect

Break the Burnout Cycle is a supportive, structured process. Sessions are a mix of conversation, reflection, and practical planning. We move at a pace your body and mind can actually handle. Some sessions may focus on emotional release and reframing the thoughts that keep you stuck. Others may be more action-focused, helping you put in place new ways of working, resting, and relating to others.

If you want a deeper reset, you can choose to include tailored hypnotherapy or guided relaxation work to help restore your mental and physical balance. Between sessions, you will have optional check-ins and reflection prompts to keep you connected to your progress.

Over time, you will notice that the heaviness starts to lift. Your energy returns in manageable waves, rather than in short bursts followed by another crash. You begin to recognise your limits without guilt and make choices that support your long-term wellbeing.

Burnout Recovery is available as part of ongoing counselling, as standalone sessions, or as the full Break the Burnout Cycle programme. You can work with me online anywhere in the UK, or in person in Norwich and the surrounding areas.
