About Michael

Coach and hypnotherapist, based in Norwich.

I spent about thirty years in IT before I retrained. Long enough to get good at it, and long enough to notice I had built a life that looked sensible from the outside and did not feel like mine from the inside. Working out what to do about that took me a while, and it is a large part of why I do this work now.

I am registered with the NCPS and I have been working with clients for six years. I trained as both a coach and a therapist, which means I am comfortable when a practical conversation about habits turns into something less tidy, and I am not going to pretend that never happens.

How I work

No fixed programme, no worksheets you have to complete before the next session, and no framework you have to fit yourself into. I am more interested in what your week actually looks like than in what it would look like if everything went to plan.

In practice that means we adapt. If the homework is the thing getting in the way, we drop the homework. If you think better on your feet, we walk. If a fortnight is a more realistic gap than a week, we use a fortnight. You set the pace, and you do not have to justify it.

Three ways to meet

  • In person at the therapy room in Norwich
  • Walk and talk, along the river or through the parks
  • Online by Zoom or phone, anywhere in the UK

All three are equal options. Plenty of people find that walking makes a difficult conversation easier, partly because you are side by side rather than facing each other, and partly because moving gives the awkward bits somewhere to go.

Have a chat first

Thirty minutes, free, phone or Zoom. It is mostly a chance for us both to work out whether this is a good fit.
