counselling
helping with the overwhelm of navigating life.
Life can get overwhelming in ways we never expect. You might be navigating a relationship that has become strained or broken, coping with grief after losing someone important, or trying to recover from a difficult experience that still weighs heavily on you. Sometimes the challenges are sudden — a redundancy, a health scare, a betrayal. Other times, it is a slow build-up of pressures that leaves you feeling flat, anxious, or simply not yourself.
WHY attend counselling?
Perhaps you are carrying feelings you cannot easily share with friends or family. Maybe you feel guilty for struggling because, on the surface, your life looks fine. You might have moments of clarity where you think you are coping, only to be pulled back into worry, sadness, or frustration. Some people find themselves repeating patterns in relationships or work and cannot see why the same difficulties keep coming back.
You might have reached the point where the tools you have always used — keeping busy, staying strong, putting others first — no longer work. That can feel frightening, but it can also be the moment when real change becomes possible.
How Can counselling Help?
I provide a space where you can talk freely, without judgement or pressure. Here you do not have to filter your words or worry about how they will be received. We can explore the surface issues that are causing distress and also look beneath them to the deeper emotions and beliefs that might be influencing your choices.
My approach combines empathy with clarity. I will listen closely to your story, but I will also help you see patterns, connections, and possibilities you may not have noticed before. Together, we can work on understanding why certain situations affect you so strongly, and how you can respond in ways that feel more balanced and authentic.
Counselling can help you process experiences from the past, make sense of challenges in the present, and prepare for changes in the future. It is about creating the internal space to feel more in control of your emotional life, even when you cannot control the circumstances around you.
what to expect
Our sessions are collaborative. You decide what matters most to you, and we shape the work around that. Some people focus on specific events, while others use counselling as a place to explore a wider sense of dissatisfaction or uncertainty.
Over time, you may find that you react differently to situations that once triggered distress, that you have more clarity about what you want, and that you feel more able to make decisions without being clouded by fear or guilt.
I offer counselling online to clients across the UK, as well as in person in Norwich and the surrounding areas. You can choose short-term work to focus on a particular issue, or longer-term support if you want to go deeper into your personal growth.
